Maybe someone else can add some more tips. I should mention that I don't realy like Engineer (passive playstyle) and have not played that many rounds with him. I don't realy watch the timer with him since I am basically "3 players" during the Boss Fights so it does not matter if I took 5 or 7 minutes for the first map. With Engineer I just go for all chests, then proceed to kill the boss with my turrets while protecting me with the shield / keeping myself out of the fight. I usually reset if I don't have at least one of the following items: Ukulele or Willow the Wisp or Gasoline (Commando lacks in AOE damage which is crucial on Monsoon) Depending on the Items i have gotten after the boss dies I will decide if it is worth continuing the run. I try to initiate the first boss at around 5 minutes. With Commando I try to open as many chests as possible while paying attention to the time. To add something to the discussion: I also think that you strategie in Monsoon also depends on the Survivor you are playing. stack a few of those and some alien heads and you can get some pretty crazy action goin on like unlimited missiles, thunder storm with capacitor, faster preon accumulator shots (personal fav), and many other wacky things. gift of the drowned is easily the BEST drop you can get, while it auto uses your item, it also reduces its cooldown. If you got a good stockpile of lunar coins, pods are worth opening, but not everything is worth picking up. this i find most effetive for keeping the 2nd loop simple where it turns into buy everything and anything of value. so before you activate the portal save up as much cash as you can, clear any bosses that may be up not related to the portal, then start portal. the 4 min per floor for the first loop is very good advice, you wont want to save up for the legendry chests on the first run of abyss as soon as you get there, its actually better to buy a lot of the little stuff first, then use cash earned from the portal event to buy it. Ps - if you have friends (improbable) they can help by playing characters that have abilities to stun mithrix or wittle him down slowly for you, for example railgunner and artificer can freeze mithrix in place for you.Yeah all advice here so far are good approaches. Very importantly dont pick up any drones whatsoever or spare drone part, this type of damage is worse then atg missile or tri tip dagger. im not sure if this still gets you the achievement since you technically did kill him but better safe then sorry.
If you have a dios theres a chance you can use your two shots and he'll get revived. Gesture of the drowned is unnecessary with effigy due to its infinite lasting effect and short cooldown, picking up one of these will just cause chaos for yourself so its best to avoid. its better to just ignore any items that can possibly kill him before it will land. Singularity band and tentabauble are other ones that can prove to be helpful, although not as consistent as effigy its still helpfulĪny items that cause outside damage like tri-tip dagger or atg missile can very very easily kill mithrix stealing your kill before the beacon can land. Shaped glass and armour-piercing rounds can also be helpful as you dont have to get him too low, just make sure you're aware of your items and when you grab them because the double damage primary fire could end the run. theres the chance this doesnt work but it saved my run. it holds mithrix in place so you can easily hit him with the beacon instead of desperately trying to make him walk into it, combine this with fuel cells and you should be fineĪ power elixir is very helpful to have, when damaging mithrix in his dying form, each attack does alot more damage then the last and its hard to judge when you can kill him and when he can take another hit, the power elixir is funnily enough for mithrix to use when he takes your items, not you.
The most important equipment here is definitely effigy of grief. The most important part of this run would be the items you pick up since they directly affect the damage and effects you apply to the boss, some items you should avoid and others are must picks for this achievement.
